Miscellaneous

Some irrelevant personal facts:

Given my training in economic theory, my approach to photography is to identify the shapes, lighting, and colors that best convey the essence of the moment and (hopefully) capture a bit of the subject's soul. As with theoretical models, in photography, what is left out of the picture is as important as the pixels in the image itself.

I have been particularly influenced and inspired by the works of my co-nationals Gabriel García-Márquez, Carlos Vives, and Shakira (who, coincidentally, are originally from the same region I grew up), as well as by Virgil Abloh, Thom Browne, Bizarrap, Lucian Freud, Kurt Gödel, Felix Hausdorff, Fan Ho, Rei Kawakubo, Stanley Kubrick, Lee McQueen, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Iris van Herpen, Diego Velazquez, Giuseppe Verdi, and a plethora of other serial creators of bright ideas.

The democratization of the means of content distribution (brought by the rise of social media and other platforms) makes this landscape more exciting than ever.

A very special place is reserved for Çağatay Kayı, Stephane Wolton, and my advisors (David, Luis, and Dan), who have mentored me at different stages of my career.
